Carmela Remigio Giorgio Berrugi, Maria Teresa Leva & Vito Priante Lead Fondazione I Teatri Reggio Emilia’s 2022-23 Season

Italy’s Fondazione I Teatri Reggio Emilia has announced its 2022-23 Season.

Here is a look at the opera productions and concert performances.

Opera

Marcus Bosch conducts a new production of Wagner’s Tannhäuser with Georg Schmiedleitne. The production will star Tijl Faveyts, James Kee, Corby Welch, Birger Radde, Martin Mairinger, Young Kwon, Leah Gordon, Heike Wessels, Anne Schuldt, Christian Sturm, Gerrit Illenberger, and Julia Duscher.

Performance Dates: Nov. 18 & 20, 2022

Bruno Taddia, Filippo Mineccia, Delphine Galou, Marie Lys, Federico Fiorio, and Arianna Vendittelli star in Vivaldi’s “Il Tamerlano” with Ottavio Dantone conducting Stefano Monti’s production. 

Performance Dates: Jan. 27 & 29, 2023

Vito Priante takes the title role of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” alongside Mariangela Sicilia, Marco Ciaponi, Giacomo Prestia, Carmela Remigio, Riccardo Fassi, Fabio Previati, and Enkeleda Kamani. Corrado Rovaris conducts the production by Mario Martone. 

Performance Dates: Feb 24 & 26, 2023

Giorgio Berrugi, Devid Cecconi, Maria Teresa Leva, Lavinia Bini, and Alisa Kolosova star in Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera” with Fabrizio Maria Carminati conducting the production by Massimo Gasparon.

Performance Dates: March 17 & 19, 2023

Concerts 

The Tenebrae Choir will be led by Nigel Short.

Performance Date: Jan. 22, 2023

La Capella Reial de Catalunya and Le Concert des Nations will be directed by Jordi Savall. The program will include Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Stabat Mater pour Des Religieuses, Domenico Scarlatti’s Stabat Mater, and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
