By Francisco Salazar

Carlo Colombara and Fulvio Massa have opened the doors to the Paride Venturi International Opera Academy.

The new Academy is open to everybody who wants to study opera singing in the great Italian tradition of Paride Venturi, who was taught by Arturo Melocchi. The new school hopes to train students to master the fundamentals of singing, including vocal technique and sing on the breath.

It will also give students the basis of analyzing operatic scores and theatrical studies with conductors, directors, and actors. Moreover, there will be meetings with speech therapists, psychologists, and physiotherapists in order to allow students to understand the multiple aspects necessary to become a great singer.

The Academy will provide masterclasses with some of the greatest opera singers in the world including Hui He, Mo Leone Magiera, Bernadette Manca di Nissa, Ines Salazar, Luciana Serra, Aprile Millo, and Marco Boemi, among others

Colombara is a well-known bass who has performed in the most important theaters in Italy and overseas performing alongside Marilyn Horne, Shirley Verrett, Daniela Dessì, Anna Netrebko, Elina Garanča, and Jonas Kaufmann.

Massa has performed with  Katia Ricciarelli, Daniela Dessì, Luciana Serra, Giuseppe Giacomini  and holds opera singing masterclasses in London, Hamburg, Sofia and Brazil.
