Cape Town Opera has released details of its 2024 season.

One-off concert performances include “Puccini in the Park” at the Maynardville Open Air Festival, “Starlight Classics” at Vergelegen, and Mozart’s “Requiem” at the Paarl Toringkerk at Easter. All performances are in collaboration with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

In commemoration of the centenary of Puccini’s death, “Shorts: A Festival of Pocket Operas at the Arena” will feature performances of Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi;” Poulenc’s “La Voix Humaine;” Mozart’s lesser-known opera “Der Schauspieldirektor” (The Impresario) translated into English; and Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti.”

Also included in the season are productions of Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” and David Kramer’s “Orpheus McAdoo.”
