The Canadian Opera Company is set to close its season with “The Magic Flute.”

The company’s production will be directed by Canadian director Ashlie Corcoran and will star Turkish-Austrian tenor Ilker Arcayürek in the role of Tamino and Norwegian soprano Caroline Wettergreen as the Queen of the Night. The cast will also include Canadian bass-baritone Gordon Bintner as Papageno, David Leigh as Sarastro, and soprano Anna-Sophie Neher as Pamina.

German conductor Patrick Lange will lead the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra through Mozart’s whimsical score.

“The Magic Flute” is set to be performed on May 6, 8, 11, 14, 17, 19, and 21, 2022.

The Canadian Opera Company recently canceled its production of “Madama Butterfly” and is still set to stage Verdi’s “La Traviata” in April and May.
