Canadian Opera Company General Director Steps Down

The Canadian Opera Company has announced that its General Director Perryn Leech is stepping down.

Leech joined the COC as its General Director in March 2021 and took over Alexander Neef, who led the company between 2008 and 2020.

The company noted that David Ferguson, a past President and Chair of the company’s Board of Directors has been named Interim General Director.

In a statement Jonathan Morgan, the COC’s Board president said, “We thank Perryn for his contributions to the organization over the last three years.

He added that the search for a new general director was underway.

Next season the company is set to present productions of “Nabucco” “Faust” and “Madama Butterfly,” among others.
