Camille Sherman To Give Recital With Portland Opera

By Francisco Salazar

The Portland Opera is set to host a special community recital featuring mezzo-soprano Camille Sherman in her first year as a resident artist with the company.

Sherman is set to give a recital accompanied by Portland Opera’s Chorus Master & Assistant Conductor Nicholas Fox.

Sherman made her Portland Opera debut this fall as Flora in Verdi’s “La Traviata” and will sing the role of Ramiro in “La Finta Giardiniera” this upcoming season. Sherman has also worked as an Artist in Residence with the Pensacola Opera and was a semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

The Resident Artist Series features intimate and direct performances that are focused on the singer, the pianist, and art song.

The recital is set to be held on June 25 at the Whitsell Auditorium, Portland Art Museum.
