Camilla Nylund, Stuart Skelton & Evelyn Herlitzius Lead Livestream of ‘Jenůfa’ From Staatsoper Unter Der Linden

The Staatsoper unter der Linden has announced that it will stream live the premiere of its production of Leoš Janáček’s opera “Jenůfa” on Feb. 13, 2021.

Due to the German government’s COVID-19 regulations, the showcase will be performed without a live audience.

The opera will star Hanna Schwarz as Grandmother Buryjovka, Stuart Skelton in the role of Laca Klemeň, Ladislav Elgr as Števa Buryja, Evelyn Herlitzius as Kostelnička Buryjovka, Evelin Novak as Karolka, and Camilla Nylund in the title role. The cast will also include Jan Martiník, David Oštrek, Natalia Skrycka, Aytaj Shikhalizada, Adriane Queiroz, Victoria Randem, and Anna Kissjudit.

Sir Simon Rattle will conduct the production by Damiano Michieletto. The showcase will be broadcast on www.3sat.de and the Staatsoper unter der Linden’s website on Feb. 13 at 8.15 p.m. The recording will be available for viewing for 30 days in the 3sat media library as VoD after the premiere date.

Berlin opera houses have been closed since early November 2020, and they will remain shut until at least Easter 2021.
