Camilla Nylund & Erwin Schrott Lead Recitals at Teatro Alla Scala

The Teatro all Scala has announced a few new additions to its fall 2020 programming.

Soprano Camilla Nylund will give the recital at the Teatro alla Scala between Sep. 29 and Oct. 1, 2020.

Nylund will perform Richard Strauss’ “Vier Letzte Lieder” for soprano and Orchestra. Strauss’ Symphonic Poem “Ein Heldenleben,” Op. 40 will be also be performed with Zubin Mehta conducting the Filarmonica della Scala.

Bass-baritone Erwin Schrott will take the stage on Oct. 4, 2020. Schrott will present a rich program that includes “Mentre ti lascio, o figlia” K 513 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Non t’accostare all’urna” from Verdi’s “Les vêpres siciliennes,” as well as Verdi’s “Et toi, Palerme.”

Schrott will also perform “Que les songs heureux” from “Philémon et Baucis,” as well as  “Vous, qui faites l’endormie,” and “Le veau d’or est toujours debout” from “Faust” by Charles Gounod. The rest of the program will include works by Carlos Guastavino, Arrigo Boito, and Francesco Paolo Tosti.

Giulio Zappa will be at the piano.
