Camilla Nylund, Barbara Hannigan, Mojca Erdmann & Matthias Goerne Lead Munich Philharmonic’s 2021-22 Season

The Munich Philharmonic has announced its 2021-22 season. For the purpose of this article, we will focus on the vocal performances only.

Soprano Julia Lezhneva and contralto Sara Mingardo perform works by Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi alongside conductor Andrea Marcon and the Philharmonischer Chor München.

Performance date: Oct. 31, 2021

Soprano Mojca Erdmann presents music by Strauss alongside conductor Zubin Mehta and oboist Marie-Luise Modersohn. Teresa Zimmermann plays the harp.

Performance dates: Dec. 8 – 10, 2021

Soprano Lenneke Ruiten, mezzo-soprano Idunnu Münch, tenor Michael Spyres, and baritone Brian Mulligan perform music by Beethoven alongside conductor Antonello Manacorda and the Philharmonischer Chor München.

Performance dates: Jan. 14 – 16, 2022

Soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, mezzo-soprano Eva Zaïcik, tenor Mauro Peter and bass Tareq Nazmi present works by Mozart alongside conductor Philippe Herreweghe and the Philharmonischer Chor München.

Performance date: Feb. 13, 2022

Soprano Camilla Nylund performs music by Richard Strauss alongside conductor Tugan Sokhiev.

Performance date: March 6, 2022

Soprano Mari Eriksmoen and baritone Matthias Goerne sing music by Brahms alongside conductor Paavo Järvi and the Philharmonischer Chor München.

Performance dates: April 30 – May 1, 2022

Soprano Sen Guo, mezzo-soprano Huiling Zhu, tenor Jinxu Xiahou, and bass-baritone Shenyang perform alongside conductor Long Yu and the Philharmonischer Chor München.

Performance dates: May 4 – 6, 2022

Soprano Barbara Hannigan performs music by Strauss and Poulenc.

Performance date: May 8, 2022
