Cambodia Opera Project to Present Puccini Classic this December
By David SalazarThe Cambodia Opera Project is set to present “Madama Butterfly” this December.
The project will be led by Vincenzo Grisostomi Travaglini with Gabriele Faja directing the production and Marco Titotto conducting. The opera will star soprano Yasuko Fuji, mezzo Ai Iwasaki, tenor Enrico Terrone Guerra, Khuon Sethisak, Ng Martin, and Nhoeng Kanol.
“We have an amazing team with great expertise, but we need help from sponsors and partners to stage this amazing production. This is a project out of love and passion for Opera, the arts, and for the development of classical productions in Cambodia,” Faja said of the project, per EuroCham Cambodia.
Performances of “Madama Butterfly” will take place at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Dates have yet to be confirmed.
