Calgary Opera Unveils 2026-27 Season

Calgary Opera has announced its 2026-27 season.

Puccini’s “Tosca” opens the season with Jonathan Brandani conducting and Joshua Borths directing. The production features the Calgary Opera Chorus, Cantaré Children’s Choir, and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16 – 24, 2026


Calgary Opera’s family-friendly offering, Seymour Barab’s “Pied Piper,” is performed at the Mamdani Opera Centre. The production features members of Calgary Opera’s McPhee Artist Development Program.

Performance Dates: Nov. 13–22, 2026


Then comes Massenet’s “Cinderella.” Jacques Lacombe conducts, with stage direction by Mieko Ouchi. The Calgary Opera Chorus and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra will perform.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29 – Feb. 6, 2027


Next up is Verdi’s “Otello” conducted by Jonathan Brandani and directed by Elizabeth Stepkowski Tarhan. This showcase features the Calgary Opera Chorus, Cantaré Children’s Choir, and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Performance Dates: April 16  – April 24, 2027
