Brucknerhaus Linz to Reopen in July

By David Salazar

The Brucknerhaus Linz in Austria is set to re-open on July 5, 2020.

Per reports, the organization will showcase a concert dedicated to Jewish composers followed by another that features Beethoven’s pastoral symphony with the Orchester Wiener Akademie Haselböck.

The concerts will only seat 400 people and will be performed twice.

The Brucknerhaus Linz is the latest of several organizations that seem intent on slowly returning to some semblance of normality. In Spain, the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián and the Festival International de Santander have both pledged to move forward with their summer festivals, changing up programs and committing to local artists, in order to ensure protection for audiences and performers alike.

However, several other organizations, like the Glyndebourne Festival, have canceled their 2020 editions altogether, signaling that there are still several companies that continue to feel unsure about the circumstances surrounding the spread of COVID-19.
