By Logan Martell

On December 12, 2020, Brooklyn Art Song Society will present the next installment of its virtual Schubert festival.

Featuring works not normally shown in mainstage programs, this concert will be filmed live at the Soapbox Gallery in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. The program will include “Die Forelle,” “Auf Dem Wasser du singen,” and “Ave Maria (Ellens Gesang III).” The artists are mezzo-soprano Sarah Nelson Craft and tenor Nils Beubert, who will be accompanied by Nana Shi.

The virtual Schubert festival comes as part of BASS’s 11th season, and will showcase over 100 songs through five programs in celebration of the composer’s career. Following the “Bonus Concert,” audiences will get a chance to check out “Winterreise” on Jan. 16, 2021, followed by “Liebe” on Feb. 13, 2021.

“Schwanengesang” will close out the season on March 13, 2021.
