Brooklyn Art Song Society Announces BASS Art Song Library

By Francisco Salazar

The Brooklyn Art Song Society (BASS) has announced the first beta version of the BASS Art Song Library.

The library is a growing searchable resource dedicated to art song. Audiences will be able to explore song-by-song listening guides featuring historical context, musical insights, and interpretive commentary, and search by composer, poet, language, topic, or song title.

BASS’ goal is to build a resource for singers, pianists, teachers, students, scholars, and art song lovers.

The Brooklyn Art Song Society has earned a reputation as one of the preeminent organizations dedicated to the vast repertoire of poetry set to music. This 2026–27 season will center around “Passions,” a six-concert exploration of love and longing through some of the most compelling works in the art song repertoire.
