Brian Jagde & Pretty Yende Lead Teatro La Fenice’s New Year’s Eve Concert
By Francisco SalazarOn Jan. 1 the Teatro La Fenice is set to televise the New Year’s Eve concert.
The concert, which will be presented on WDR + ARTE DE and ARTE FR, will be conducted by Fabio Luisi and will star Pretty Yende and Brian Jagde.
The evening will showcase the orchestra performing Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No 9 in e minor in the first half with the second half spotlighting the soloists who will perform music from Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda,” Offenbach’s “Les contes d’Hoffmann,” Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette,” Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci,” Verdi’s “Il trovatore,” “Nabucco,” and “La traviata,” Puccini’s “Turandot,” Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia” and Wagner’s “Lohengrin.”
The concert will be performed live for an audience on Dec. 30, 31, 2021 and Jan. 1, 2022.
