Brian Cheney and Cathy Venable Continue ‘Composer Series’ with Mozart Concert

On April 22, 2021, artists Brian Cheney and Cathy Venable will continue their “Composer Series” on Stageit with a concert devoted to the works of Mozart.

The program will be comprised of selections from works such as “Idomeneo,” “Così fan tutte,” “Don Giovanni,” and “Die Zauberflöte.” Cheney will also perform a solo version of “Ave Verum,” and Venable will play the overture from “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

A student of tenor Jerry Hadley, Cheney has performed Don Ottavio in “Don Giovanni” at the Metropolitan Opera with conductor Franz Vote. Over the pandemic, he has taken on over 30 roles in works ranging from opera, operetta, art song, Broadway, film, and Disney Musicals.

Pianist Cathy Venable is currently is the Associate Conductor for the first National Tour of “Frozen,” and has held a similar position with the national tours of “The Phantom of the Opera” and “The Sound of Music.”  She has served as Assistant Conductor with companies such as Salt Marsh Opera and Light Opera Oklahoma and in numerous Broadway pits.

Tickets for the event will be available to purchase on a “pay what you can” basis.
