Bregenz Festival Announces ‘Tancredi’ for 2024 Season

Austria’s Bregenz Festival has announced its plans to present Rossini’s “Tancredi” during the 2024 season.

The festival said in a press conference that the opera will run for three performances in Bregenz, opening on July 18, 2024. The day before that the Bregenz Festival will open for its 78th season with the lake stage premiere of Carl Maria von Weber’s “Der Freischütz.”

“Tancredi” will be directed by Jan Philipp Gloger and the sets will be designed by Ben Baur, who regularly collaborates with Jan Philipp Gloger. The costume designer will be Justina Klimczyk and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Yi-Chen Lin.

The 2023 Bregenz Festival is set to present a production of “Madama Butterfly” and “Ernani,” among others.
