Lilli Paasikivi has been appointed to the position of Artistic Director and CEO of the Bregenz Festival.
Paasikivi, who is currently the Artistic Director of the Finnish National Opera, will take up her new post starting on Oct. 1, 2024.
Paasikivi has held the position at the Finnish National Opera since 2013, where she was key to creating such initiatives as Opera Beyond in 2019. She also founded the Sydänkesän säveliä festival in 2016 and was the artistic director of the Pyhäniemen kartano concert series between 2010-15.
Prior to her work in management, Paasikivi was a mezzo-soprano who performed with such organizations as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, among others.
