Bregenz Festival Announces 2024 Season

The Bregenz Festival has announced its 2024 season. The festival will be held between July 17 and August 18, 2024.

The season will open with Philipp Stölzl’s production of Carl Maria von Weber’s “Der Freischütz.”

The production will star Liviu Holender, Johannes Kammler, Franz Hawlata, Raimund Nolte, Vera-Lotte Boecker, Nikola Hillebrand, Elissa Huber, Hanna Herfurtner, Gloria Rehm, Katharina Ruckgaber, Christof Fischesser, David Steffens, Oliver Zwarg, Thomas Blondelle, Attilio Glaser, and Mauro Peter. Enrique Mazzola and Erina Yashima conduct.

Performance Date: July 17-August 18, 2024

Rossini’s “Tancredi” will start Antonino Siragusa, Anna Goryachova, Andreas Wolf, Mélissa Petit, and Laura Polverelli. Yi-Chen Lin conducts the production by Jan Philipp Gloger.

Performance Dates: July 18-29, 2024

The company is set to present “Hotel Savoy” with Gábor Biedermann, Boris Burgstaller, Josefin Feiler, Moritz Kallenberg, Josephine Köhler, Klaus Rodewald, Paula Skorupa, and Felix Strobel. Andreas Schett will conduct the production by Corinna von Rad.

Performance Date: July 21-24, 2024

Daniel Cohen conducts soprano Marlis Petersen in a program that includes Arnold Schönberg, Richard Strauss, and Béla Bartók.

Performance Date: August 11, 2024

Rossini’s “La cambiale di matrimonio” and Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” will be performed in a double bill in a production by Brigitte Fassbaender. Fabian-Jakob Balkhausen, Maximilian Bell, Idil Kutay, Liza Vjera Lozica, Jacob Phillips, Gonzalo Quinchahual, Rommie Rochell, Ilia Skvirskii, Pete Thanapat, and Isabel Weller star and Leo McFall conducts.

Performance Dates: August 12-16, 2024

The company is set to present Éna Brennan’s “Hold your Breath.”
