Boston Lyric Opera to Team Up With Castle of Our Skins for ‘Misodzi Yamarimba’

Boston Lyric Opera will team up with Castle of Our Skins for a special performance of “Misodzi Yamarimba” on August 28, 2021.

The showcase, which will be part of the company’s Street Stage mobile performance vehicle at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, features an original musical narrative by Zimbabwean composer Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa-Nzou Mambano, who will perform alongside

Earlier in 2021, the Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage showcased the world premiere performance of “My Name is Alondra,” a BLO-commissioned song-cycle collaboration between Boston’s Youth Poet Laureate Alondra Bobadilla and BLO Emerging Artist Composer Omar Najmi.

Boston Lyric Opera partnered with Castle of Our Skins on the 2018 multi-part community concert series, “Crossing the Line to Freedom,” and in various venues including the Boston Public Library.

David holds a Masters in Media Management from Fordham University. During his time at Fordham, he studied abroad at the Jagiellonian University in Poland. He also holds a dual bachelor’s from Hofstra University in Film Production and Journalism.
