On Jan. 7, 2022, the Boston Guerrilla Opera premiered the animated film “Rumpelstiltskin,” which will be followed by the Jan. 14 release of the Navona Records album “Rumpelstiltskin.”

“Rumpelstiltskin” features music by Marti Epstein, a libretto by Marti Epstein and Greg Smucker and animation and shadow puppet direction by Deniz Khateri; the work, which is sung in English, lasts 55 minutes.

American conductor Jeffrey Means conducts the opera, which stars Aliana de la Guardia, Britt Brown, Emily Thorner, Brian Church, LIlit Hartunian, Stephen Marotto, Philipp Stäudlin, and Mike Williams.

In addition to “Rumpelstiltskin,” the company is set to present “Ellis,” “The Colony,” The Cellos’ Dialogue,” and a triple bill of “Quaking Aspen,” “Interim,” and “She Wears Bells” throughout its 2022 season.
