Boston Court Pasadena To Showcase Opera ‘The Passion of McQueen’ Based on Fashion Design

The Boston Court Pasadena is set to showcase a staged concert of a new opera “The Passion of McQueen” on March 1, 2019.

The work tells the story of famed couture designer Alexander McQueen in work written by William Nedved and with music by Kentaro Kameyama, who is also a fashion designer and “Project Runway” winner. The staged concert will be directed by Diana Wyenn. Kameyama will design costumes for the performance.

The showcase will feature baritone David Castillo and mezzo-soprano Peabody Southwell. Castillo is also a producer of the performance. Southwell is a Grammy-Award winner who recently made her Met Opera debut in the production of “Marnie.”

Boston Court Pasadena is an organization that started in 2003 and produces over 100 performances of theatre and music every year. The theater is also set to showcase the USC Graduate Students Vocal Performance in concert on March 2, 2019.
