Boston Camerata to Celebrate its 70th Anniversary
By Francisco SalazarThe Boston Camerata is set to celebrate its 70th anniversary on Oct. 6 at the Remis Auditorium, Museum of Fine Arts.
The organization will perform with its singers and instrumentalists and will re-create some of the first, pioneering Museum performances.
One of the first Camerata concerts of 1954 featured music from medieval France, which has become a cornerstone of the ensemble’s repertoire. The stories from this music are also echoed in some of the visual treasures of the Museum collections and the ensemble will showcase how it has evolved, presenting some of its present-day adventures in sound, too.
Anne Azéma will lead the orchestral and vocal ensemble.
This Anniversary Event at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Remis Auditorium will be made possible thanks to a generous gift from Lia and William Poorvu.
