The Boston Art Song Society has announced that Ethan DePuy will be the company’s next Artistic Director.

DePuy will succeed Ann Schaefer in the role; Schaefer led the Boston Art Song Society for the past three seasons and will now be moving on to a teaching position at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

DePuy, a tenor, has appeared with such organizations as the Handel and Haydn Society, Music at Marsh Chapel, Emmanuel Music, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and the Boston Opera Collaborative. He will take over the position immediately.

“We are so grateful to Ann for her leadership and vision,” said DePuy in a press release. “I’m truly looking forward to building upon that foundation in future seasons.”

The Boston Art Song Society is now entering its seventh season.
