Bolshoi Theatre to Celebrate Plácido Domingo’s Career

The Bolshoi Theatre is set to present “Plácido Domingo: Life in Opera.”

The concert, which will celebrate the legendary singer, features a roster of operatic superstars including Anna Netrebko, Pretty Yende, Christina Nilsson, Emily D’Angelo, Piotr Beczala, Yusif Eyvazov, Ildar Abdrazakov, Michael Volle, and Xabier Anduaga. The Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra will accompany the soloists, led by conductor Tugan Sokhiev.

Domingo is currently conducting at the Bolshoi Theatre in a production of “Manon Lescaut,” an opera he first sang more than half a century ago. He will lead a cast that includes Anna Nechaeva in the title role, Elchin Azizov as Lescaut, Oleg Dolgov as Chevalier des Greux, Star Kunchulia as Geronte de Ravoir, and Ilya Selivanov as Edmond.

The gala will be held on Oct. 24, 2020.
