Bilbao Opera to Present Rossini Double Bill

On April 6, the Bolbaro Opera is set to present Rossini’s “Giovanna d’Arco” and Stabat Mater.

The concert, which will be presented at the Teatro Arriaga will feature soloists Angela Meade, Chiara Amarù, Paolo Fanale, and Simón Orfila.

Amarù will debut with the company substituting the originally scheduled Marianna Pizzolato.

Nicola Luisotti will conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica Verum and the Coro de Ópera de Bilbao.

Meade is a well-known performer who has sung at the Metropolitan Opera and has performed at the Bilbao Opera on two occasions. Meanwhile, Fanale has sung at the Paris Opera and sang the Bilbao Opera’s production of “La Clemenza di Tito.” Orfila is a frequent soloist at the Bilbao Opera who most recently sang a production of “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” in Bilbao.
