Bilbao Opera Reschedules ‘Anna Bolena’ with Joyce El-Khoury

Bilbao Opera has announced new dates for Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena.”

The opera, which was originally set to close the 2019-20 season for the Spanish theater in May, will now be presented in 2022 on Nov. 19, 22, 25, and 28. Joyce El-Khoury will replace Angela Meade in the title role while the remainder of the cast will remain the same. El-Khoury will join Silvia Tro Santafé, Roberto Tagliavini, and Celso Albelo with Giampaolo Bisanti conducting.

The theater also announced that the Rossini concert featuring “Giovanna d’Arco” and the Stabat Mater will be performed on April 6, 2022. Angela Meade will replace Joyce El-Khoury and join Marianna Pizzolato and Paolo Fanale. Nicola Luisotti conducts.

The theater also announced that “Guillermo Tell” for children will be performed on Jan. 3, 4, and 5, 2022.
