Bilbao Opera Announces Final Results of the 2024-25 Season

On Nov. 21, the board of directors of the Bilabo Opea director approved the financial statements for the 2024-2025 season with 99 percent of the vote.

President Juan Carlos Matellanes said the 73rd Season concluded with revenues of €7.9 million and expenses of €8.3 million, highlighting that “efforts aimed at reducing the deficit have resulted in a slight improvement over the budgeted figure.”

Matellanos also noted that the season “has undoubtedly been a success, with important premieres being added to the Association’s catalog, as well as new productions.”

The 2024-25 season saw the Bilbao Opera present five operas and a concert at the Euskalduna Palace and four shows at the Arriaga Theatre as part of the ABAO Txiki season. In total there were 41 performances with an expected audience of 64,940.
