Beth Morrison Projects To Present West Coast Premiere of ‘Angel’s Bone’

Beth Morrison Projects is set to present the West Coast Premiere of Du Yun and Royce Vavrek’s “Angel’s Bone” on May 1 and 3 at the Broad Stage as part of the LA Opera’s “Off Grand” programming.

The opera, for which Du Yun won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize, will feature musical direction by Julian Wachner with Michael Joseph McQuilken directing the production. Abigail Fischer, Kyle Pfortmiller, Kyle Bielfield and Rosie K are set to star in the opera which follows the plight of two fallen angels with nostalgia for earthly delights.

The opera premiered at the Prototype Festival 2016 and was originally commissioned by the Mann Center for the Performing Arts alongside Beth Morrison Projects.

In addition to showcase “Angel’s Bone,” Beth Morrison Projects will be presenting two unique works including “Home” on March 4-8, as well as “Place” on March 24, 2020.
