Plácido Domingo will sing at the Berlin State Opera.

The Berlin company confirmed that the tenor will perform as planned in January performances of “La Traviata.”

The company is the latest in a line of European houses that have stood by Domingo. The Salzburg Festival, Teatro alla Scala, the Royal Opera House, Opernhaus Zurich and the Teatro Real are among the houses that have stated Domingo will perform in this season.

In the U.S., the Metropolitan Opera has stated it is awaiting the LA Opera’s investigation to make any decisions while the Philadelphia Orchestra and San Francisco Opera have already fired Domingo from 2019-20 season engagements.

Domingo returns to the stage this weekend in concert performances of “Luisa Miller” alongside Nino Machaidze and Piotr Beczala.

“La Traviata” is set to open on Jan. 16 and will also stars Benjamin Bernheim and Zuzana Marková.
