Berlin State Opera Announces Live Broadcast for Opera for All Festival

On Sept. 18 and 19, the Belin State Opera will broadcast opera at the Bebelplatz in the historic heart of Berlin. pen-air concert.

The events will begin on Sept. 18 with a live opera broadcast of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” from the Great Hall of the Staatsoper. Daniel Barenboim conducts the opera with a cast that includes Federica Lombardi, Anna Prohaska, Corinna Scheurle, Gyula Orendt, and Gerald Finley. Vincent Huguet directs the production, which premiered digitally in April 2021.

On Sept. 18, the Staatskapelle Berlin, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, and the Staatsopernchor, conducted by Choir Director Martin Wright, celebrates its 200th anniversary with works from “Nabucco” and “Tannhäuser.” The concert will be streamed live on www.staatskapelle-berlin.de and www.staatsoper-berlin.de.

Audience members who will be attending will require proof of vaccination, evidence of recovery, or proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid test. Children under the age of six are exempt from the obligation to get tested.
