Berkshire Opera Festival Announces 2023 Season

The Berkshire Opera Festival has announced its 2023 season.

The season includes Puccini’s “La Bohème” at Colonial Theater. The cast will include Whitney Morrison, Yongzhao Yu, Benjamin Taylor, Veronique Filloux, Evan Lazdowski, Ethan Vincent, and James Demler. Brian Garman conducts the production by Jonathon Loy. In a statement, Loy said, “This will be a production with a fresh take that will center on the epic love and loss of innocence that these characters face in one of the greatest and most widely-known operas in the canon.”

Performance Date: August 26-Sept. 1 2023

The company will present “To Paris with Love: Opera in the City of Light”  with Amanda Batista, Ryan Capozzo, Yazid Gray and Francesco Barfoed.

Performance Date: April 16, 2023

Breaking the Mold: Baroque, Bel Canto and Beyond” will showcase Jacqueline Piccolino, Megan Moore,  Alex McKissick, Ethan Vincent, and Travis Bloom.

Performance Date: July 22, 2023

The Berkshire Opera Festival  will workshop Anthony Davis and Joan Ross Sorkin’s “The Reef.” The brand new new opera is adapted from the novel by Edith Wharton.

Performance Date: Nov. 16, 2023
