Benjamin Bernheim’s ‘Werther’ to be Streamed from Teatro alla Scala

The Teatro alla Scala is set to stream Massenet’s “Werther” on June 27, 2024.
The company will showcase the opera on La Scala TV which will be conducted by Alain Altinoglu and directed by Christof Loy.
Benjamin Bernheim leads a cast that includes Jean Sébastien Bou, Victoria Karkacheva, and Francesca Pia Vitale.
The new production of “Werther” marks the first time since 1980 that the opera is presented at the Teatro alla Scala. Back then the opera starred Alfredo Kraus and was conducted by Georges Prêtre.
The streamed performance will be available on demand until July 4, 2024, and the production will run through July 2, 2024.
