Benjamin Bernheim & Nadine Sierra Lead Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Romeo et Juliette’

The Metropolitan Opera is set to present Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” for seven performances.

The opera, which opens on March 7 and runs through March 30, is set to star Nadine Sierra and Benjamin Bernheim. The production also features Samantha Hankey, Will Liverman, Frederick Ballentine, and Alfred Walker.

Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the production by Bartlet Sher. which had its first Met performance on Dec. 31, 2016. The creative team includes set designer Michael Yeargan, costume designer Catherine Zuber, lighting designer Jennifer Tipton, choreographer Chase Brock, and fight director B. H. Barry.

The matinee performance of “Roméo et Juliette” on March 23, will be transmitted live to movie theaters around the globe as part of the Met’s Live in HD series.  The March 7 and 23 performances will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on the SiriusXM app.
