Benjamin Appl Announces Three New Albums

Alpha Classics and Benjamin Appl have announced that over the next six months, there will be three new albums by the acclaimed baritone.

The first recording in the series will be the release of “The Christmas Album” on Nov. 1. The album includes Bach Chorales and popular carols and Appl is accompanied by the Munich Radio Orchestra and conductor Florian Helgath.

The second album will be “Lines of Life” on Feb. 14, a collaboration with György Kurtág featuring five world premieres from the composer alongside a selection of Schubert songs loved by Kurtág. Pierre-Laurent Aimard and James Baillieu join Appl on the recording.

The final album will feature Appl celebrating the centenary of Dieter Fischer-Dieskau,his hero and mentor. It will get a release on May 23, 2025. The album includes Appl’s frequent collaborator pianist James Baillieu.
