Opera Santa Barbara has announced its 2026-27 season.

Verdi’s “Rigoletto” opens the season with Ben Lowe in the title role alongside Oriana Falla as Gilda, Arnold Geis as the Duke of Mantua, Colin Ramsey as Sparafucile, and Xeni Tziouvaras as Maddalena.

Performance Dates: Nov. 6 – 10, 2026

Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” stars Matthew Peterson as Figaro, Sunwoo Park as Rosina, Chris Mosz as Count Almaviva, Mattia Venni as Doctor Bartolo, and Colin Ramsey as Don Basilio.

Performance Dates: Feb. 19 – 24, 2027

Bohmler and Kohn’s “Riders of the Purple Sage” receives its California premiere in a production based on Zane Grey’s classic Western novel. Karin Wolverton stars as Jane Withersteen alongside Luis Orosco as Lassiter, Joshua Dennis as Venters, and Keith Phares as Elder Tull.
