Beijing Music Festival Unveils 2025 Lineup

The Beijing Music Festival announces the details of its 28th festival. This article only features vocal concerts.
Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen sings the title role in The English Concert’s production of Handel’s “Rinaldo.” Mary Bevan, Paula Murrihy, Alexander Chance, Ashley Riches, Rachael Wilson, and Andy Shen Liu round out the cast. Harry Bicket serves as conductor and harpsichordist.
Performance Date: October 14, 2025
Berg’s “Wozzeck” makes its Chinese premiere. Robin Adams, Magdalena Hofmann, Michael Schade, Martin Winkler, Samuel Sakker, Hugo Kampschreur, Lotte Verstaen, Rueben Mbonambi, Leander Carlie, and Qirui Cui make up the cast. Johan Simons directs the new production by Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Belgium. Charles Dutoit conducts the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Philharmonic Choir, and Shanghai Conservatory of Music Choir.

Mezzo-soprano Ildikó Komlósi performs with the Central Opera House Chorus, China National Opera House Chorus, and China Philharmonic Orchestra in Elliot Leung’s “Chinese Kitchen: A Feast of Flavors.” Yang Yang conducts.
