‘Béatrice et Bénédict’ to Make Italian Debut at Teatro Carlo Felice

On Oct. 28, The Teatro Carlo Felice is set to present Berlioz’s “Béatrice et Bénédict.”

The opera will be performed in Italy for the first time and will open the 2022-23 season in Genoa.

This opéra-comique based on Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” will be conducted by Maestro Donato Renzetti, who celebrates its inclusion as the 100th opera in his repertoire, and directed by Damiano Michieletto, in the first revival of the 2020 production at the Opéra National de Lyon.

The opera will be headlined by two casts that include Nicola Ulivieri, Yoann Dubruque, Julien Behr, Giorgio Misseri, Gérald Robert-Tissot, Benedetta Torre, Francesca Benitez, Cecilia Molinari, Sofia Koberidze, Eve-Maud Hubeaux, Gaia Petrone, and Ivan Thirion.

“Béatrice et Bénédict” will be performed from Oct. 28 through Nov. 6, 2022.
