BBC Cardiff Singer of World 2023 Winners Announced

The BBC Cardiff Singer of the 2023 Competition has announced the winners of its three main competition.

Taking home the Main Prize was bass Adolfo Corrado from Italy. Born in Apulia, he has performed at La Scala, Teatro Petruzzelli, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro la Fenice, Arena di Verona, and Teatro Regio di Torino, among others. He performed arias from “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” and I Lombardi alla prima crociata.”

The Song Prize winner was tenor Sungho Kim. The Korea native has performed at the Hamburg State Opera, Dortmund Opera, and Verbier Festival. He performed works by Vaughan Williams, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Strauss, and Soungtai Kim.

The Audience Prize went to Colombian soprano Julieth Lozano Rolong. The Bogotá native has performed at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Scottish Opera, Verbier Festival, and Teatro Mayor. She is set to appear at the Welsh National Opera and Longborough Festival Opera.  She performed arias from
