Bayerische Staatsoper to Stream ‘Die Fledermaus’ with Diana Damrau

Arte.TV is set to present the Bayerische Staatsoper’s new production of “Die Fledermaus” on Dec. 31, 2023.

The opera will also be streamed on the company’s  STAATSOPER.TV and will be in co-production with ZDF.

Vladimir Jurowski will conduct the new production by Barrie Kosky, which will ring in the New Year.  The cast will include Georg Nigl (Gabriel von Eisenstein), Diana Damrau (Rosalinde), Martin Winkler (Frank), Andrew Watts (Prinz Orlofsky), Sean Panikkar (Alfred), Markus Brück (Dr. Falke), Kevin Conners (Dr. Blind), and Katharina Konradi (Adele).

The new production will include sets by Rebecca Ringst, costumes by Klaus Bruns, and lighting by Joachim Klein.

“Die Fledermaus” is set to open on Dec. 23, 2023 and will run through Jan. 10, 2024. The operetta will also be presented in the summer for one performance.
