Bayerische Staatsoper Makes Cast Change for ‘Nozze di Figaro’

The Bayerische Staatsoper has made a cast change for its upcoming production of “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

Per OWL Artist Management, mezzo-soprano Rachael Wilson will be taking over the role of Cherubino for the March 15, 2022 performance; she will be replacing Samantha Hankey. She will join a cast starring Gerald Finley, Olga Bezsmertna, Katharina Konradi, Luca Pisaroni, Katja Pieweck, Maurizio Muraro, Jonas Hacker, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro, Danae Kontora, Andrew Gilstrap, Juliana Zara, and Daria Proszek.

She is set to take on the role later this season at the Teatro Real de Madrid. She is also set to take on a production of “Werther” at Staatsoper Stuttgart and is coming off a production of “Juditha Triumphans.”

Wilson’s career has seen her perform with such companies as the Münchner Opernfestspiele, Opéra National du Rhin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Opéra de Massy, and Orchestre National d’Ile de France.
