
Bayerische Staatsoper Announces Cast Change for ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’
By Francisco SalazarThe Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its production of “Le Nozze di Figaro.”
The company said that Diana Damrau will be stepping into the role of La Contessa di Almaviva on July 14 and 17, 2024.
The soprano has performed the role at the Teatro alla Scala and is known for her many Mozart roles including the Queen of the Night and Konstanze. Damrau recently performed several recitals and is set to reprise her role as Rosalinde in Johann Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
Damrau is set to join a cast that includes Mattia Olivieri, Louise Alder, Konstantin Krimmel, and Avery Amereau. Stefano Montanari conducts the production by Evgeny Titov.
