Bayerische Staatsoper Announces Cast Change for ‘Aida’

The Bayersiche Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its “Aida:  Oper für Alle” performance on July 17, 2021.

The company announced that Judit Kutasi will take over the role of Amneris for Anita Rachvelishvili.

Kutasi has performed at the Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro alla Scala, Staatsoper Hamburg, and Arena di Verona. She is well-known for her Verdi interpretations as well as her work in the Verismo repertoire. She is set to sing Ulrica in the 2021-22 production of “Un Ballo in Maschera” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

The mezzo will join a cast that includes Krassimira Stoyanova in the title role, Fabio Sartori, Dmitry Belosselskiy, and Amartuvshin Enkhbat.

Zubin Mehta conducts the evening which will be held at the Marstallplatz.
