By Francisco Salazar

The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its production of Verdi’s “Aida.”

The company said that Eve-Maud Hubeaux will sing the role of Amneris replacing Anita Rachvelishvili.

Hubeaux recently made her debut at the Salzburg Easter Festival in “La Gioconda” and is currently performing a production of Ponchielli’s masterwork at the Teatro San Carlo. She is set to sing at the Paris Opera and Salzburg Festival this summer.

Hubeaux is set to join a cast that includes Jonas Kaufmann, Elena Guseva, George Petean, Vitalij Kowaljow, and Alexandros Stavrakakis. Marco Armiliato conducts the production by Damiano Michelietto.

“Aida” is set to be performed on April 21, 25 and 28, 2024.
