The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its 2025-26 season revival of “La Bohème.”

The company said that Juliana Grigoryan will take over the role of Musetta, replacing the originally announced Aida Garifullina.

Grigoryan is the winner of the International Stanislaw Moniuszko Vocal Competition Grand Prize and the Operalia Competition and has performed with numerous major companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala,  Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the Arena di Verona.

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Sonya Yoncheva, Benjamin Bernheim, Andrzej Filończyk, German Olvera, and Roberto Tagliavini.

“La Boheme” will be performed from Dec. 14 through 26, 2025.
