Bayerische Staatsoper 2018-19 Live Stream: Smetana’s ‘Bartered Bride’ Takes Centerstage

The Bayerische Staatsoper will live stream the Jan. 6, 2019 performance of Smetana’s “The Bartered Bride” via its Staatsoper.TV.

The free transmission will kick off at 6 p.m. local time (12 p.m. EST and 9 a.m. PST) and is set to feature Selene Zanetti as Marie. Günther Groissböck and Pavol Breslik appear as Kezal and Hans respectively with other cast members including Oliver Zwarg, Helena Zubanovich, Kristof, Klorek, and Irmgard Vilsmaier, among others.

The production in Munich will be directed by David Bösch with Tomas Hanus leading the musical proceedings.

This is the seventh season of Staatsoper.TV. Per the official website, the recordings feature four to six cameras and over 40 microphones in the orchestra pit and stage. All the transmissions are offered in HD with German or English subtitles (or none if preferred).
