Staatsoper Stuttgart is set to premiere a new production of “Rusalka” on June 4, 2022.

The production will be directed by Bastian Kraft and conducted by Oksana Lyniv. Kraft’s production will place drag artists alongside the singers to explore and further queer readings of the work.

The opera stars Esther Dierkes and Reflektra in the title role with David Junghoon Kim taking on the role of the Prince. Allison Cook will be the foreign princess with Katia Ledoux and Judy LaDivina as Jezibaba. Other cast members include Goran Juric, Alexander Cameltoe, Torsten Hofmann, Alexandra Urquiola, Natasha Te Rupe Wilson, Vava Vilde, Catriona Smith, Lola Rose, Leia Lensing, Purrja, and Ángel Macías.

There will be additional performances on June 9, 11, 16, 19, 25, and July 2, 2022.
