Bass-Baritone Kevin Short Appointed to Juilliard Voice Faculty

The Juilliard School has announced that bass-baritone and alumnus Kevin Short will join its voice faculty, beginning this fall.

In a statement, the Juilliard School noted, “We’re excited to welcome bass-baritone and Juilliard alum Kevin Short to the Juilliard voice faculty beginning in the fall!”

A graduate of the ‘89 voice and opera program at Juilliard, Short has performed with companies throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. He performed at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Opera Comique, Welsh National Opera, Semperoper Dresden, and more.

As a soloist, Short has performed with the Boston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, National Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, and Moscow Philharmonic, among others.

Short is also a well-known teacher who works at the University of Maryland at College Park and previously taught at the Frost School of Music in Miami.
