Barno Ismatullaeva, Jacquelyn Wagner, Pumeza Matshikiza, Mario Rojas & Daniel Luis de Vicente Lead Staatsoper Hannover’s 2024-25 Season

The Staatsoper Hannover has announced its 2024-25 season.

Premieres

Philip Glass’s “Satyagraha” will be conducted by Masaru Kumakura and directed by Daniel Kramer. The production will star Shanul Sharma, Meredith Wohlgemuth, Ketevan Chuntishvili, Beatriz Miranda, Lluís Calvet i Pey, Markus Suihkonen, Ruzana Grigorian, Darwin Prakash, and Markus Suihkonen.

Performance Dates: Sept. 6-Oct. 31, 2024

Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” will receive a new production by Dirk Schmeding. Viktor Antipenko leads the production with Barno Ismatullaeva, Ani Yorentz, Daniel Scofield, Darwin Prakash, and Lluís Calvet i Pey. Masaru Kumakura conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 25, 2024-Jan. 19, 2025

“Chicago” will be conducted by Piotr Jaworski and directed by Felix Seiler. The cast will include Jeannine Michèle Wacker, Karin Seyfried, Fabio Diso, Patricia Hodell, Philipp Kapeller, and Richard Patrocinio.

Performance Dates: Dec. 6, 2024-June 20, 2025

Michael Wertmüller’s “Israel in Munchen” will be conducted by Titus Engel and directed by Lydia Steier. Daniel Eggert, Ketevan Chuntishvili, Ruzana Grigorian, Philipp Kapeller, Beatriz Miranda, Freya Müller, Darwin Prakash, Luvuyo Mbundu, Yannick Spanier, and Fabio Dorizzi star.

“Das Kind der Seehundfrau” will be conducted by Max Bilbe and directed by Valérie Junker.

Beatriz Miranda and Lluís Calvet i Pey star in Piazzolla’s “Maria de Buenos Aires.” Piotr Jaworski conducts the production by Amna Shadad.

Martinů’s “The Greek Passion” will be conducted by Stephan Zilias and directed by Barbora Horáková Joly. Shavleg Armasi, Daniel Eggert, Frank Schneiders, John Pickering, August Zirner, Darwin Prakash, Christopher Sokolowski, Marco Lee, Pawel Brozek, Fabio Dorizzi, Peter O’Reilly, Philipp Kapeller, Ketevan Chuntishvili, and Luisa Mordel star.

Performance Dates: April 11-May 11, 2025

Kiandra Howarth, Martin Summer, Anne Marie Stanley, Frank Schneiders, and Meredith Wohlgemuth star in Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier.” Christian Stückl directs a new production while Stephan Zilias conducts.
