Baritone Franco Vassallo To Make His Rossini Opera Festival Debut

Baritone Franco Vassallo will soon make his Rossini Opera Festival Debut at the prestigious GALA ROF XL.

He will sing “Largo al factotum,” Figaro’s aria from Il Barbiere di Siviglia. A leading interpreter, he has sung the role at several of the world’s foremost opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Vienna State Opera.

“That of Figaro has undoubtedly been a key role for my career,” Vassallo noted. “[It] has projected me into the most important theaters in the world alongside extraordinary colleagues like Juan Diego Florez (who I will meet again at the Gala of Pesaro), Joyce Di Donato, Elina Garrança . . .”

Also expected to entertain at the Gala are Valeria Girardello, Anna Goryachova, Angela Meade, Claudia Muschio, Nicola Alaimo, Paolo Bordogna, Lawrence Brownlee, Ruzil Gatin, Alessandro Luciano, Mirco Palazzi, Michelle Pertusi, and Sergey Romanovsky. They will be backed by the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Rai, led by Carlo Rizzi.

The Gala will be held on Aug. 21, 2019 at the Pesaro Arena.
